MTB/Mountain biking

All day alpine hike

The Roc d’Enfer, the Dents Blanches, the Point de Nyon and the Chablais mountain ranges offers you a wide choice of routes and unique views over Lake Geneva and the Mont Blanc range.  Routes range from easy, relaxed strolls to more difficult alpine routes but the scenery is always fantastic.  Morzine Tourist Office produces a walking guide that highlights some of the most popular routes.

White-water rafting

Negotiating rapids and small waterfalls in an inflatable raft is brilliant fun – and a great way to take in the scenery on the calm bits.

Paragliging

This is a very popular activity in the Alps. Flights are accompanied by an instructor who will give you a sedate flight with wonderful views of the valley. If you prefer a more exhilarating flight, your instructor can demonstrate stalls and basic acrobatics.

Fantasticable

Ride between two mountains. You’ll ‘fly’ at nearly 70 mph in perfect safety, attached to a cable and comfortably settled into a harness. It must be tried, it’s unique and exhilaration guaranteed!

Canyoning

A unique water and rock adventure and not for the faint hearted!  Prepare to get very, very wet as you absail, swim, slide and float through the spectacular and mysterious green worlds of sculptured rock and sparkling, crashing cascades.  You wear a wetsuit, trainers, helmet and harness whilst accompanied by a fully qualified guide. Tree top adventure

Wearing a harness and helmet as you clamber through a tree top adventure playground built for both adults and children with zip wires and rope bridges. Just like Tarzan, you swing between the trees on ropes, ladders, swings, aerial runways, cargo nets and rope bridges.

Via ferrata

An adventure that will make your head spin! Equipped with safety harness, crash helmet and safety rope, you’ll manoeuvre over rock faces fitted with special iron trails. Depending on the route chosen, there are different levels of difficulty.

Day trips

Morzine is an ideal base from which to take day trips to visit some beautiful surrounding towns to sample the cultural delights on offer in this area.
The lakeside spa towns of Thonon-les-Bains and Evian-les-Bains provide a welcome relief to an action-packed activity holiday with the option of soothing both the mind and body at a luxurious Spa, or a lakeside stroll.  The pretty, medieval walled town of Yvoire, it is a “must see”.
Annecy famous for its medieval architecture, fabulous shopping and the second cleanest lake in Europe.  Chamonix at the foot of Europe’s highest mountain Mont Blanc (4807m) where you can take the second highest cable car in the world for stunning views over the Alps or take the cog railway to see the ‘Mer de Glace’ glacier and visits the ice caves.
