Getting to Morzine

Morzine is one of the most accessible ski resorts in France. Getting to Morzine is easy by air, car or train. However you decide to travel we can help and advise you.
By Air
Morzine is only 75 minutes drive away from Geneva airport making it a great spot for short breaks or family holidays.
There are many cheap flights available to Geneva (see links) from where we can arrange a transfer for you from the airport to your accommodation or you can hire a car. Just let us know your full flight details before your holiday.
Morzine is also accessible from Lyon (140 mins) and Chambery (100 mins)
Before booking your flight check the baggage weight allowance. Normally you will pay extra for skis (but they do not normally check if there are two pairs in the bag). Consider taking your ski boots as hand luggage and stuffing the boot bag with other heavies such as novels.
Consider the final price of your flight. Is the low cost airline cheaper that BA or Swiss when you have paid all of the hidden extras (tax, equipment etc?)
By Train
There is a regular train service from the French channel ports to Thonon or you can take the Eurostar to Paris or Lille and then TGV to Cluses (daily) or Thonon (Saturday and Sunday). (see links)
We can arrange a transfer from Cluses or Thonon to bring you to your accommodation. Just let us know your full travel details before your holiday.
By Car
For those who enjoy driving Morzine is an easy 8-9 hour drive from the channel ports. Morzine is 998 km from London, 600km from Paris and 1042km from Amsterdam. The nearest motorway exit is on the A40 at Cluses.
Allow approximately £40 / €60 each way for tolls. Fuel is cheaper than in the UK. Use the tunnel or ferries to get to France (links)
Having a car in resort gives you the flexibility to visit surrounding ski resorts and towns.
Ask us for door to door directions and parking facilities at your accommodation.
Car Hire
There are many car hire agencies at Geneva airport (links). From Geneva confirm that your car has a Swiss motorway sticker (vingnette) and snow chains. We would always advise pre-booking your car hire as paying on the day tends to be very expensive.
It is also possible to hire a car in Morzine for a couple of days if you want to get out to surrounding towns and ski resorts.
We have a partnership with Budget rent a car who seem to offer very competitive prices. Click this link for a quote.

Transfers
Return mini-bus transfers from Geneva Airport to Morzine are included in the price of catered chalet and hotel holidays. If you do not want a transfer we can arrange a price reduction.
For self catering holidays transfers can be arranged. These must be booked and paid for in the UK. Transfers are available to and from most airports and railway stations.
