What’s the ski season?

Ski Season is from 16th December 2005 to 23rd April 2006.

What are the advantages of Morzine?

Morzine is a both beautiful traditional towns with an excellent selection of winter sports and an abundance of summer activities. Morzine is part of the huge Portes Du Soleil ski area, one of the best and most varied ski domains in the world and it is situated only 90 minutes from Geneva, making transfer times very bearable.

What’s the weather like?

From December to January, it’s cold with temperatures at or around zero, which means perfect conditions for snow. In February and March, the weather is warmer and by the end of the seaon, you can ski in t-shirts and a light fleece.

How do you get there?

By Easyjet from London Gatwick and Liverpool to Geneva (one hour). Ski Morzine will arrange transfer to the resort or car hire. For self drive, Ski Morzine can advise on the best deals with Eurotunnel or Sea France. Morzine is eight hours’ driving time from Calais.

What’s the accommodation?

Ski Morzine offers a huge range of over 200 different kinds of properties. Choose from luxury or traditional French hotels, catered chalets, self-catering apartments and self-catering chalets and studios.

What time can we arrive at our accommodation?

In Chalets and hotels you can arrive any time after 10am, although the rooms will not be ready until about 2pm due to cleaning. You can access your apartment after 4pm although sometimes we can offer bag storage during the day and on rare occasions we can get in earlier.

What time must we leave by on departure day?

In Hotels and Chalets you must be packed and out of your room by 10am cleaning can be done ready for the next guests! Aparmtent guests must leave the apartment clean and tidy by 9am.

What about children?

There are excellent facilities for children at Morzine. Ski Morzine can arrange for British-managed childcare facilities. There’s also Le Club des Piou-Piou for beginner skiers between the ages of three and 12. Children can also visit The Dereches Farm in the forest where they can feed and take care of the animals like sheep, pigs and ponies. They can discover the farm on toboggans or on snow shoes. What non-ski-ing activities are there?

Activities include sledging, paragliding, ice diving, showshoe outings, horse drawn sledges and snowmobile excursions. See off the slopes.

Where can I hire ski/snowboard equipment from?

We use two local shops in town for ski, snowboard & boot hire. We are happy to give you a lift up to the shop and help you organise your equipment! See equipment for more details.

How do we organise ski school?

You can pre-book your lessons with us or our reccommended partners before your holiday. See lessons for more info.

How much is a lift pass?

You can find the prices of lift passes by seeing our section passes.

Do I need to take my passport to the Swiss resorts?

No, leave it safe in the chalet. There is no border control in the Portes Du Soleil.

Do I need to take Swiss money to the Swiss resorts?

You don’t have to worry about changing up Swiss money. All restaurants and bars on the Piste accept Euros although some will give change for notes in swiss francs.

Do I need to bring my own towels and linen?

When booking in to catered accommodation, all linen and towels are provided. In self catered apartment you must bring your own linen and towels unless you hire from us for £15 per person.

Do I need to pay tourist tax?

We cover all local tourist taxes!

Do I need to bring a photo for my lift pass?

You only have to bring a photo if you need a lift pass for more than 6 days.

Can I book my lift pass in advance?

Yes. Save time at the lift office by getting in touch with us, and we’ll have your lift pass ready for you when you get here.

Where is the medical centre?

Opposite the tourist office in Morzine you can find Doctor Julienne, or there is Doctor Phillipe opposite the L’Etale restaurant where there is an English doctor this year.

Where can I get internet access from?

You can go to CyberStyle which is just opposite Intersport, or the tourist office also has internet access.

Where are the best places to go out to at night?

There are a number of bars to go to in Morzine. The Cavern bar is lively and good for a “cheesy” night out. Upstairs in the Buddha Café there are nice leather sofas to relax on and more easy music to listen to. Then there is the Dixie Bar which plays all sporting events on satellite tv and has the nice feeling of an English pub! Whatever you like, there is something for everyone

Do you cater for vegetarians and other dietary requirements?

Yes we do but please let us know in advance so we can shop accordingly.
