Seasonaires

Are you thinking of doing a season in Morzine? You need a chalet with great access to the slopes and snow parks – and we’ve got just that at the Chalet Nantégué.
Morzine is a great place for doing a season – it’s part of the Portes du Soleil, the biggest linked ski area in not just the Alps, but the whole world, which makes it easier than anywhere else to snowboard or ski until you literally can’t stand! If you’re going to stay here for the whole season, you want to make sure you can get to the slopes whenever you feel like it.
Here are just some of our favourite Portes du Soleil ski and board parks, all of which are easily accessible for those doing a season at the Chalet Nantégué.
Snowpark d’Arare
Located above Avoriaz, the Snowpark d’Arare is commonly called the ‘Big Park’ because it is the largest and most difficult snow park in the area. The features include a few blues (10-15 feet) and some more challenging red jumps (25-30 feet); when the snow falls heavily, they build a black kicker, usually the largest feature in the resort at 45 feet.
Snowpark de Trashers
At the other end of the scale, if you’re a beginner doing a season for the first time and you’re looking for somewhere to get your legs, head over to Snowpark de Trashers. It’s the smallest and easiest park in Avoriaz, a usually quiet place ideal for newcomers to learn in peace.
Snowparc de Nyon
On the Nyon plateau above Morzine, Snowparc de Nyon is another small and often quiet snow park, well suited for beginners.
Snowpark des Crosets
Over the mountains in Switzerland, you’ll find the second largest park in the Portes du Soleil: Snowpark des Crosets. If you want to try something unique when you’re doing a season in the Alps, Snowpark des Crosets often includes novelty features – such as the Piste Basher jump, requiring the rider to clear the length and height of a snow-cat piste basher. This is one we recommend for experienced riders.
At the Chalet Nantégué, we’ve got our own bus stop – it’s even called the Nantégué Stop – with 4 buses an hour to take our seasonaires to both major ski lifts, as well as the town centre and the major bar strip. Doing a season at the Chalet Nantégué puts you right where you need to be to have a fantastic winter.
And that’s not even mentioning the social aspect! Our seasonaires don’t head up to the slopes and parks alone (unless they want to!) – going up in groups, they have a great time honing their skills, teaching each other new tricks, competing and just mucking about. Then it’s back down to the Nantégué for a great night. There really is no better chalet for doing a season in Morzine.
