Spent 4 years in the ski industry, followed by 16 years in IT (but still taking people on ski trips during this time), then another 12 years as a personal fitness trainer (specialising in ski fitness – trained Sarah Morris – fastest run in Giant Slalom Nagano Disabled Olympics).

Skied for how long:

Qualified as a ski instructor in 1969 !!  Taught on the dry slopes of Sandown for many years, so it seemed a natural circle to re-house company here when ownership changed hands 2001.

Loves Morzine because:

it’s a traditional family-run village and you get to see the same faces season after season, summer and winter

Favourite ski run:

Tulipe (red 47 off La Ranfoilly 1850).  Great views of Mt Blanc b4 you start.  Big wide sweeping piste into the Les Bowl.  Never crowded.  Some wonderful ridges for taking the Big Air.  Fantastic ‘anti-gravity’ ledge 2/3 of the way down on left, to be taken at top speed!.  South-facing optional coffee/lunch stop in the sun.

Favourite mountain restaurant:

Le Vaffieu (Pleney). Great atmosphere (inside or out).  Great views. Great food. Lovely people.

Loves Morzine because:

all the great mountain restaurants and deck chairs!

Favourite ski run:

Arbis (red 16 off chamosiere) where you feel on top of the world.

Favourite mountain restaurant:

The kiosk with deck chairs at the top of the Charniaz express… great freshly cooked food at really cheap prices!

Jo

I have worked for Ski Morzine for one year but I have worked in the travel industry for over 12 years, dealing with many different holidays from skiing to African safari tours.

Skied for how long:

I have skied for twenty years on and off so I know most of the European ski destinations but I love France most of all.

Loves Morzine because:

Morzine is a perfect ski destination for many reasons but for me with two young sons it ticks all the boxes . Morzine is a beautiful traditional town with many shops/restaurants and french life all year round. The  skiing is abundant for all levels and the teaching is very professional. The resort is a short transfer from Geneva which means that you can leave the UK in the morning and ski in the afternoon. Lastly with the majority of accommodation just a short distance from the lift systems everything is simple.

Favourite ski run:

is the long blue Pleney B back to resort from the top of the Pleney lift. This is because it always great to ski back to resort after a long day instead of catching the bubble and also is some instances you can ski right back to your chalet.

Favourite mountain restaurant:

I love the Vaffieu!
